Luanda - The impact of the Lobito Corridor on the economic development of the Southern African region was one of the topics that dominated the meeting between the Angolan minister of Transport and the United Kingdom minister of State for Climate, Environment and Energy, held last Monday, in Luanda.
During the meeting, Ricardo D'Abreu and Richard Benyon also assessed the United Kingdom's commitment to establishing the Lobito Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency and the creation of the Economic Development Plan for this railway infrastructure, according to a press release to which ANGOP had access today.
Also on the agenda were the assessment of the role of the European Union and the United States of America (USA), the development of logistics platforms, as well as the concession of the General Cargo and Container Terminal at the Port of Lobito.
On the occasion, the Angolan minister of Transport, Ricardo D'Abreu, highlighted the United Kingdom's support and engagement in the development of the maritime and port subsector.
