Saurimo - The Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlo Dos Santos, on Saturday encouraged national and foreign entrepreneurs to invest more and more in the real estate sector, to face the current housing deficit, estimated at 2.2 million homes.
The governor made this appeal during the inauguration ceremony of the first phase of a housing project in the city of Saurimo, of private initiative, which includes 40 residences of the type T3, T4 and T5.
The housing project, with a private investment of US$10 billion, under construction in an area of 144,000 square meters, foresees a total of 289 residences of various types, in the first phase.
The residences will be marketed in the resolvable rent system, in an amount that will vary between 50 and 80 million kwanzas, through housing credit.
On the occasion, Carlos Dos Santos stressed that the housing deficit in the country is increasing as there is a population growth of around 3% per year, a problem that the State is unable to solve alone, hence the need for private sector intervention.
To stimulate the private sector, he assured that the State has been working to create better conditions, such as the provision of urbanized spaces, to facilitate investment by entrepreneurs and directed self-construction. JW/HD/DOJ/DOJ
