Luanda - The minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Media, Mário Oliveira, said on Thursday in Luanda Province that the ITEL Technological Innovation Fair (FITITEL) has the potential to transform the country's economic future, contributing to the digital transformation of this sector.
Speaking at the opening of the 15th edition of the fair, he said that new technologies have boosted the digital economy and allowed financial inclusion, as well as created business opportunities, especially for entrepreneurial games.
To him, the event has also played a crucial role in fostering creativity, exchanging and sharing knowledge and producing increasingly robust innovative solutions.
He said it was a strategic act that directly contributed to the goals set out by the National Development Plan (PDN) 2023-2027, in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, to promote innovation and accelerate digital transformation in Angola.
The minister highlighted, when technologies are used well, they can improve quality and solve real problems in society and help young people commit to contributing to social and economic development.
On the other hand, the government official considered that events of this kind connect young talents with investors, entrepreneurs and private sector partners, boosting the emergence of new ideas and businesses that can transform the market.
He said that the fair has been getting stronger due to the number of participants, as well as the quality of projects on display, which in his view constitutes a bench mark in the information technology context.
The 15th fair of the Telecommunications Institute (ITEL), takes place until Saturday, under the motto “Fintches as drivers of the digital economy and financial independence", developing and highlighting the trends of digital transformation, promoting entrepreneurship and the creation of startups in the financial sector.
