Luanda - The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, praised, on Friday, the work carried out towards the entry into operation of the António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), on the 10th of this month, with four flights of passengers to Cabinda.
The government official made this statement during a meeting with the multi-sectoral commission working on the operationalization of the new airport.
Recognizing the dedication and commitment of all the teams that worked and believed in this project, he added that a new moment begins that needs to be valued, as it is 'a structure that makes us proud and symbolizes the new Angola' that we intend to build.
For the 10th, four round-trip flights are planned for Cabinda, from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm, with a Dash 8,400 aircraft.
During the meeting, the members of the commission provided information regarding the transfer of passenger flights to the new airport, mobility, security of the perimeter and surroundings, certification, public lighting, among other topics that contribute to the realization of daily frequencies for the province of Cabinda.
The Minister of State and members of the commission visited Sonangol's fuel unloading terminal and received detailed information about its operation.
During the month of December, TAAG will operate flights on routes in the Eastern region (Dundo, Saurimo and Luena) and Soyo from AIAAN and, progressively, in the first quarter of 2025, will complete the transfer of the remaining connections domestic and international.
According to TAAG, the transfer of commercial passenger flights follows the best international practices in aviation change management, ensuring a safe, efficient transition focused on continuous improvement in customer service. VC/DOJ
