Luanda - The minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior on Wednesday, in Luanda, highlighted the 3.3 percent economic growth forecast, with the oil sector growing 3.3 percent and the non-oil sector growing 3.42 percent.
Speaking at the opening of the 1st edition of the Angola Economic Outlook AEO, organised by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, in partnership with Economia & Mercado magazine, the official spoke of the need to continue with economic growth for the country's major social problems to be solved, particularly unemployment.
Manuel Junior said that following five consecutive years of economic recession, Angola returned to growth in 2021, with a 1.1 percent rate, "in that year the oil sector had a strongly negative growth of 11.2 percent. Overall positive growth was possible due to the strong recovery of the non-oil sector, which had grown 6.4%, the minister said.
The 1st Edition of the Angola Economic Outlook AEO addresses among other issues, the indicators of the country's macroeconomic performance in light of the reforms since 2018, the macroeconomic reforms developed by the government to remove internal and external imbalances in the economy.
The first panel tackled the resumption of the trajectory of positive fiscal balances and surplus balances in the present balance of payments and the reduction of the stock of public debt.
The first edition of the Angola Economic Outlook - AEO 2023, taking place under the slogan, "From economic recovery to sustainable development", is an economic observation platform that aims to allow investors and other operators to anticipate their decisions based on the projected scenarios.
