Luanda - The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano on Monday defended the continuous technical training and human resources in the sectors of Agriculture and Forestry.
The minister was speaking in Luanda at the ceremony of the transfer of portfolio from the outgoing minister of the portfolio, Francisco Assis, to the current one, Issac dos Anjos, noting that the road ahead is one of challenges, so it requires greater qualification of the staff.
There are concerns, with particular attention to the training of staff at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, he said.
He defended the creation of programs that make the sector stronger, as part of the pillar of every national development strategy, especially the path that is being taken towards food security.
In this sense, José de Lima Massano referred to sustainable initiatives for future benefit, modernization, automation and systematization for self-sufficiency to be strengthened in time.
The Minister of State praised the work carried out in the last five years in the agriculture sector and was optimistic about relaunching the challenges.
In turn, Isaac dos Anjos recognized the challenges and promised to work for better results.
'We are going to make agriculture an annual activity to achieve the desired leap,' he said.
Regarding food security, he said it is 'everyone's responsibility and not just the ministry's, and it is up to the department to create conditions for people to work'.
He reiterated some priorities related to the infrastructure under construction in southern Angola, namely the carving of land for the settlement of populations, as well as for production, in addition to working with the business sector.
Isac dos Anjos mentioned Government support for agricultural activity, with the distribution of seeds and work tools, the Agrarian Development Fund, and the Poverty Fighting Program, which includes funds to boost the sector.
Appointed on the 20th of this month, Isaac dos Anjos occupies the position of Minister of Agriculture for the second time, after having held the position in the 1990s. ML/VC/DOJ
