Luanda – Angola’s Minister of Economy and Planning Mário Caetano João on Monday said that youth should be engaged in entrepreneurship for the boosting of the country’s economy.
The minister, who was speaking to the press at introduction and public consultation of the Long-Term Strategy - Angola 2050, pointed to the need for continuous training so that youth can create businesses and increase the workforce across the country.
According to the minister, the ELP-Angola 2050 also portrays the domain of youth and is being regarded in a transversal way, as it is in fact one of the pillars of the strategy and consequently of the elaborated plan.
According to Mário Caetano João, the project is responding to the various dimensions, the first and most important of which is to tell and provide youth with the necessary instrument to be more productive and enterprising.
“In this way, we are foreseeing to reduce the unemployment rate by around 10 percent and we will clearly be promoting with more employment”, he added.
The ELP - Angola 2050 is the basic tool for the elaboration of the National Development Plan (PDN), which presents the strategic options for the country's long-term development, being elaborated based on analysis of scenarios at national, sectoral and territorial levels.
The strategy will bring a global vision to Angola and its role at the international level, in the next 27 years, presenting five (5) priority axes of development as 'a society that values and enhances its “human capital”, “a diversified and prosperous economy ”, “modern and competitive infrastructure”.
