Luanda - The road transport company MACON has recently acquired 50 buses, with a view to improving the provision of inter-provincial services and at the level of the country's capital, the president of its board of directors, Luís Máquina, informed this Thursday, in Luanda.
He highlighted that with the purchase of the vehicles, whose value is over US$ 5 million, the company will generate 200 new direct jobs, mostly for drivers.
The manager who spoke to ANGOP, on the sidelines of a meeting with officials from the National Youth Council (CNJ), assured that the buses will arrive in the country anytime this year, coming from China.
“With this acquisition, we will move into a new era, eliminating the difference between buses by class, with all passengers having needs during the journey”, Luís Máquina said, alluding to the need to meet demand, at a time when the company carries more than 10 thousand passengers across the country, daily.
Currently, MACON has 2,900 employees, of which 500 are service providers.
