Luanda – A canned meat processing factory, with the capacity to produce 10 thousand tons per year, will soon be built in the municipality of Cazenga, province of Luanda, in an initiative by the Carrinho group and the Italian company Inalca.
To implement this manufacturing unit, the two companies signed this week, in Luanda, a partnership agreement, which initially aims to produce canned beef and pork meat, and will subsequently focus on industrial processing and transformation of this product, according to a press release that ANGOP had access to today, Saturday.
The factory, to be installed in the former Frescangol, owned by Inalca Angola, is budgeted at 15 million euros, expected to initially generate 500 jobs.
According to the document, the signed agreement was designed to enhance and boost local meat production, highlighting the commitment of both companies to economic growth, sustainable development and employment for Angolans.
This project, according to the note, will also help reduce imports of canned meat and increase the activity of local meat producers, through the absorption and valorization of national raw materials.
Likewise, the investment will reinforce Angola's self-sufficiency and food security, with special attention to the agri-food and primary sector.
Inalca Angola has partnerships with local farmers to raise cattle and pigs, aiming to increase the number of partners in order to create a sustainable ecosystem for its industry.
The Carrinho business group operates in several sectors in Angola, holding the largest industrial park in the country, in addition to leading the largest private agricultural development and social responsibility program. EH/QCB/DOJ
