Luanda - The head of the Portugal-Angola Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIPA), João Traça, highlighted the Angolan Executive's investment in the Tourism, Agriculture, Education and Infrastructure sectors, which represent fundamental pillars for the country's sustainable growth.

According to a note released by the Chamber, which ANGOP had access to this Tuesday, the CCIPA's head said that “by investing in these strategic pillars, the country is creating the necessary conditions for sustained economic growth, the generation of jobs, the diversification of the economy and the improvement of the population's quality of life”.

He highlighted that CCIPA's mission has been to stimulate commercial relations between Portuguese and Angolan companies and reaffirmed the will and commitment to “together, build an even more prosperous future for Angola and Portugal”.

João Traça mentioned improvements in business collaboration, despite the economic challenges in recent years.

“We believe that good business and solid relationships are born from trust. Therefore, at this meeting, we sought to create an environment conducive to greater knowledge and interaction between professionals from different areas, building even more bridges between Angola and Portugal”, he highlighted.

The document released from the seventh Portugal-Angola Business Meeting, held this Tuesday, highlights the objectives that guided the meeting between businesspeople and government officials to debate the business future of the two countries.

According to João Traça, CCIPA, as a catalyst for opportunities, acts on several fronts to strengthen business and commercial relationships, which, in his opinion, “have always been solid and multifaceted”.

The meeting was attended by the Portuguese ambassador to Angola, Francisco Alegre Duarte, who also highlighted the commercial and business ties between the countries.

The diplomat mentioned that there are more than 1,200 Portuguese companies in Angola and trade balance is over €2billion, with Portugal being the second largest supplier.

He also recognized, on the other hand, the difficulties that businesspeople have faced, as it has been a challenging year.

In turn, the director of the Legal and Exchange Office of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Anatólio Domingos, highlighted the importance of creating networking and contact opportunities between businesspeople.

The seventh business meeting aimed to promote rapprochement, create new partnerships and “joint ventures”, explore investment and business opportunities in both countries and deepen knowledge about the Angolan market and its potential.
