Rough diamond auction yields more than US$20 millions

Luanda – The National Diamond Trading company of Angola, SODIAM E.P, promoted the 10th Rough Diamond auction and raised a net value of around US$21.6 million.

The value resulted from the sale of 2,974,24 carats, of 46 special stones for the production of rough diamonds from the Somiluana, Lulo, Kaixepa, Luela and Catoca mining companies, in the auction attended by 36 firms.

According to a SODIAM's note, sent to ANGOP this Thursday, the evaluation sessions took place from the 15th to the 23rd of this month, in Luanda, with the bids being submitted electronically on the online platform.

Results in terms of revenue: Somiluana Mining Society (US$838 thousand), Lulo (US$12.4 million), Kaixepa ($2.61 million), Luela ($1.16 million) and Catoca ($4.6 million).
