Cazenga - A batch of equipment, valued at 1.4 million euros, was delivered, this Tuesday, by the European Union (EU), to the Central Agro-food Laboratory in Luanda, to reinforce the food and nutritional system.
The material includes ultra-pure water purification systems, conventional incubators, flame spectrophotometer, PCR thermocyclers, muffle furnace, analytical balances, potentiometer and automatic colony counter.
Autoclaves, elisa, automatic pipettor and homogenizer also feature.
The delivery was witnessed by the Secretary of State for Forests, André Moda, who, in statements to the press, stated that the equipment will increase the analysis capacity of that institution and expand its capabilities to regional laboratories for calcium detection, lithium, potassium and sodium in food, soil, water and fertilizer samples.
In his view, this technical assistance to the country will contribute to improving the health of the population, sustainable and inclusive national growth, as well as strengthening the food and nutritional system.
For her part, the European Union ambassador to Angola, Rosário Bento, said that the material will guarantee the quality and reliability of the results obtained in the laboratory, as well as satisfy the demands of national and international markets, mainly the EU and SADC.
The delivery of the material is part of the Convention to Support Job Creation and the Investment Climate, signed in 2020, by the Angolan Government and the European Union. KAM/VC/DOJ
