Luanda - National Consumer Price Index (IPCN) recorded a variation of 0.84% from May to June 2022.
Comparing the monthly variations from May to June this year, there is a slowdown of 0.09 percentage points, according to the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Even if compared to the same period last year (June 2021/June 2022), there is a deceleration in the current variation of 1.21 percentage points.
The provinces that registered the least variation in prices are Moxico (east) with 0.62%, Uíge (north) with 0.67% and Bié (centre) with 0.74%.
On the contrary, the provinces of Zaire (north) with 1.33%, Cunene (south) with 1.14% and Cuanza Sul (coast) with 1.10% registered the greatest variation in prices.
The “Health” class registered the biggest price increase, with a variation of 1.78%.
Also stress goes to the price increases in the following classes: “Clothing and footwear” with 1.59%, “Furniture, Domestic Equipment and Maintenance” with 1.40% and “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” with 1. 38%.
The “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” category contributed the most to the increase in the general price level, with 0.42 percentage points during the month of June.
The list follows the classes: “Miscellaneous goods and services” with 0.08 percentage points, “Furniture, household equipment and maintenance” with 0.07 percentage points, “Clothing and Footwear” and “Health” with 0.06 percentage points each .
The remaining classes had contributions of less than 0.06 percentage points.
The general level of the Consumer Price Index in the province of Luanda registered a variation of 0.76% from May to June 2022.
Comparing the monthly changes (May to June 2022) there is a slowdown of 0.02 percentage points while, in year-on-year terms (June 2021/June 2022), there was a deceleration in the current rate of change of 1.48 points percentages.
