Cazenga – Technicians from the National Statistics Institute (INE) are carrying out in the municipality of Cazenga, in Luanda Province, a campaign to raise awareness among street sellers about the importance of the population and housing census.
The activity, included in the INE program, encompasses population clusters and public and private institutions.
According to the member of the provincial census technical group for the province of Luanda, Seydú Guimarães, the awareness campaign, which began on Tuesday, at the ASA Branca market, will run throughout the week in the Kwanzas and Compão markets, urban areas of Hoji Ya Henda and 11 November, respectively.
“Citizen awareness and mobilization is part of one of the preparation phases of the process that begins on July 19th of this year”, he highlighted.
The general population and housing census is a limited process for the Angolan territory and will allow us to know with clarity the number of inhabitants, how many men, women, children and elderly people we have, and where they live.
With this information, the country will be able to better plan the distribution of essential services to all Angolans.
Cazenga is one of the 9 municipalities in the Province of Luanda. It has the urban districts of Tala Hadi, Cazenga Popular, Kima Kieza, Calawenda, Hoji Ya Henda and 11 de Novembro.
