Luanda - The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the country recorded a change of 1.68 percent last July, the lowest monthly value in the last 11 months, according to the Quick Information Sheet of the National Statistics Institute (INE).
According to INE's monthly bulletin, to which ANGOP had access this Wednesday, since August 2023 the CPI has remained above 2%.
Comparing the monthly rates of change in June and July, there is a deceleration of 0.39 percentage points.
The provinces that recorded the lowest change in prices were Cuanza-Sul, with 1.20%, Huambo (1.28%) and Benguela, with 1.32%. The country's capital, Luanda, had a variation of 1.70 percent.
With the highest change in prices are the provinces of Namibe (2.14%), Bengo (2.13%) and Huíla, with 2.07 percent.
Among the classes that contributed the least to the monthly change are the communications service, with 0.36%, transportation (0.44%), and leisure, recreation and culture (0.97%).
The biggest price increase occurred in the health group, with a change of 2.31%, education (2.08%), hotels, cafes and restaurants (1.94%) and food and non-alcoholic beverages, with 1.86 percent.
In this regard, the year-on-year rate of change stood at 31.09%, registering an increase of 18.97 percentage points compared to that observed in the same period (2023). Comparing the current year-on-year change rate with that recorded in the previous month, there is an acceleration of 0.09 percentage points.
In an assessment of the general level of the Consumer Price Index in Luanda province, which stood at 1.70 percent, there was a deceleration of 0.84 percentage points, while in year-on-year terms (July to July) there was a deceleration in the current rate of change of 0.44 percentage points.
