Luanda – The National Institute for Support of Micro, Small and Medium size Enterprises (INAPEM) and the Institute of Administrative Modernization (IMA) initialled, Thurday in Luanda, a Memorandum of Understanding that aims to create a space for dialogue to stimulate greater approximation between the State Administration and Startups.

This agreement, signed within the framework of the 3rd edition of the Angola Startup Summit/2024, which takes place from the 16th to the 18th of this month, in Luanda, is also intended to establish the responsibilities and coordination mechanisms for implementing the “GovStartup” initiative.

Regarding the signing of the memorandum, the IMA deputy director general, Alfonsina Kassongo, highlighted that the protocol underlines the commitment that the two institutions have to promoting the digital economy and entrepreneurship.

According to the source, with this agreement, IMA intends for startups to participate in the process of economic growth, in order to create a network of communication and sharing of ideas, as well as the implementation of innovative and disruptive innovation solutions.

For his part, the executive administrator of INAPEM, Bráulio Augusto, said that the signing of this agreement constitutes an important milestone for strengthening the relations maintained between INAPEM and IMA.

He considered it to be an important step for the life of startups, because it meets one of the main challenges of market access. In other words, startups will be able to have a pool of opportunities to provide services to the public administration in a more active and coordinated way.

He added that the opportunity focuses on the development of technological solutions that help with administrative modernization.

According to the chairholder, INAPEM is committed to being a relevant actor in the signed agreement, with the organization and preparation of startups for market challenges.

The 3rd edition of the Angola Startup Summit/2024 takes place at the Talatona Convention Center, in Luanda, with a view to searching for investment opportunities, through the exchange of experiences and conducting business.

Running under the motto “Fostering new and vertical business models”, the event has the participation of more than 135 startups, 20 institutional stalls and 45 speakers.

Among the participants are entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders, students, public and private institutions interested in promoting innovation, use of new technologies and digital transformation of the country stand out.
