Malanje – At least 96 companies in the trade, agriculture and industry sectors were certified by the National Institute for Support to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (INAPEM) in Malanje during the first half of the current year.

These are micro, small and medium-sized companies, whose certification will allow them to benefit from tax reductions, preferential treatment in tendering procedures, granting of bank credits, among other advantages.

The information was given to ANGOP Tuesday by the head of the Provincial Department of INAPEM, Isaías Hongo, who highlighted that compared to the same period of the previous year, there was an increase of 44 companies, as a result of the creation of a faster and more efficient certification platform.

He said that with that, the province of Malanje now has 962 companies certified, 817 of which are micro, 74 small and 71 medium-sized, with trade being the sector with the most certifications, followed by agriculture.

Regarding technical assistance, INAPEM, together with the Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development and the Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC), carried out, from January to June, fact-finding visits to several Agricultural Cooperatives in the municipalities of Luquembo, Cambundi-catembo and Malanje, with a view to assessing their prospects for benefiting from financing.

Isaías Hongo explained that in terms of training, two courses were offered related to cooperatives, creation and management of small businesses, aimed at 195 young people from the municipality of Cacuso.

He also announced that the training would be expanded to other municipalities this year, with a view to helping young entrepreneurs improve the management of their businesses and thereby contribute to the generation of more jobs and the dynamism of their sectors of activity.

On the other hand, the official announced that 11 companies, notably the Bioenergy Company of Angola (Biocom), the Njinga Mineral Water Factory, the Futuro Jovem Cooperative, the Tegma-SU Group and the Luan Aline farm, have already signed up to the “Made in Angola” seal in the province.

He said that there are also 11 Made in Angola products, a small number, considering the universe of local companies and products that add value, and therefore he encouraged entrepreneurs to sign up to the seal, as it makes goods and services more competitive, in addition to contributing to the reduction of imports and promoting the country's economic development.
