Cabinda – The Cabinda Border Police Guard (PGFA) seized 34,434 liters of fuel, heading to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) this month.
According to the PGFA's spokesman in Cabinda, Marcos Coxito, the action is part of the operation called N'sua (Order), which the National Police carries out in the southern part of that province.
According to the spokesman, the operation, which kicked off on Jan 17, aims to fight cross-border crimes, with emphasis on illegal immigration, fuel smuggling and gold mining.
During the operation, which involved different bodies of the Ministry of the Interior in the region, 39 motorbikes were also seized, used to transport fuel to neighboring countries, as well as the arrest of more than 20 individuals accused of smuggling.
