Huambo - The director of the Study, Planning and Statistics Office (GEPE) of the central Huambo government, Pires Feliciano, on Monday pledged to be more involved in the realistic projection of sustainable development programs.
Speaking at the opening of training on data collection and statistical preparation for GEPE technicians in Huambo province, Feliciano said the training aims to establish reliable and consistent information related to public administration, so that social and economic growth can be promoted and regional asymmetries reduced.
With this training, he added, the technicians will have sufficient skills to provide decisive information for the social and economic projection needed to reduce poverty, misery and hunger in the communities.
He emphasized that GEPE will always work to improve statistical processing methods, as well as the collection and analysis of information data, in order to implement sustainable development projects in different areas, with a focus on the well-being of the population.
Over two days, participants will be equipped with tools on statistical techniques and data analyses for accurate diagnoses.
The event is being attended by 62 public administration officials representing the 11 municipalities of Huambo province. LT/ALH/DAN/AMP
