Caála – A logistic platform will be created in Calenga commune with a view to enhancing the socio-economic potential of the municipality of Caála, southern province of Huambo, the Ministry of Transport has announced.
The project that will be built in an area of 88.11 hectares, aims to stimulate the socio-economic development of this region of the Central Plateau of Angola.
The director of infrastructure, land planning and housing in the municipality of Caála, Geraldo Ndumbo, told ANGOP Tuesday that the project will be implemented in the outskirts of the Benguela Railway (CFB ) and the national road 260.
The goal is to boost socio-economic development, through the exchange of various products.
The source spoke of ongoing landmine clearance in the area, started last December and running until March 31, after which the construction of the contract will begin.
The commune of Calenga, one of the four communes in the municipality of Caála, has, since 2015, a logistics distribution center for agricultural products.
