Luanda - The President of the Republic has authorised, through an Initial Public Offering (IPO), the privatisation of shares held by the State in Unitel S.A., corresponding to 15% of the share capital of Banco de Fomento de Angola (BFA).

The authorization is contained in Presidential Order 194/24, published Friday (23) in the Official Gazette.

In the other document, President João Lourenço authorizes, in the same way, the privatisation of 15% of the share capital of Unitel S.A. and the reservation of 2% of the shares for acquisition, under special conditions, by employees and members of the company's governing bodies.

To this end, it delegates powers for the two dossiers to the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves, with the power to sub-delegate, for the practice of decision-making acts and guardianship approval, as well as for the verification of the validity and legality of all subsequent acts within the scope of the respective procedure.

The Diploma, initialed on the 20th of this month, justifies the decision with the need to proceed with the partial privatisation of the shares that the State holds in BFA, included in the Privatisation Programme (PROPRIV), extended for the period 2023 - 2026, by Presidential Decree No. 78/23, of 28 March, as stated by Jornal de Angola in its edition today.
