Luanda - A tender to sign a contract for the design, construction, exploration and commercial management of the Arimba and Lombe logistics platforms, in the provinces of Huíla and Malanje, was launched Wednesday, in Luanda, by the Angolan government.
According to a press release from the Angolan Regulatory Agency for Cargo and Logistics Certification (ARCCLA), to which ANGOP had access to, this is the fourth and fifth limited tender by prior qualification, which will allow for the exploration and commercial management of the logistics platforms for a period of 30 years.
The document said that it followed the launch of the tender already held for the concession of logistics platforms in Luvo comunne and Soyo municipality of Zaire Province, and in Luau municipality of Moxico Province.
It adds that the infrastructures were part of the same package as the six logistics platforms of the first phase of implementation of the National Network of Logistics Platforms (RNPL).
According to the document, ARCCLA is responsible for organising and monitoring the Logistics Platform (PL) concession processes, designing the procedural documents based on the applicable law within the scope of the the National Network of Logistics Platforms.
About the logistical platforms
The Arimba logistics platforms in Huíla province is located 35 kilometers from the city of Lubango. It is connected to the National Road (EN) 280 and it borders the capital cities of the provinces of Benguela (257 kilometers), Huambo (316 kilometers) and Namibe (171 kilometers).
In terms of logistics infrastructure, PLA will benefit from the ports of Namibe and Lobito, the Moçâmedes and Benguela railways, as well as the Catumbela and Namibe airports.
The Lomba logistics platform, located in the north-central Malanje Province, benefits from the Luanda railroad, a strategic logistical infrastructure, as a link to international markets through the Port of Luanda.
The Lombe station, on the Luanda Railroad line, is about 4 km from Malanje, 27 kilometers from Malanje Airport and 24 kilometers from National Road (EN) 140.
In addition to these logistical facilities, there are highways, the most important of which is the EN-230, which connects the Pungo-Andongo commune of Malanje Province to the town of Capanda in Cuanza Sul Province.
