Luanda – Angola government said it has aligned the new National Development Plan (PDN 2023 - 2027) with the Long Term Strategy (ELP - Angola 2050), which should assess and materialise international commitments.
The information was disclosed Thursday by the Head of the Department for Sectoral Planning of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), Adilson da Silva, stressing that the goals of the PDN, aligned with ELP, present fundamental pillars of development, with the transversal social themes.
Speaking at the usual MEP briefing, Silva said the alignment sought to measure the priorities defined in the great commitments assumed by the government.
"Every approach is followed by a territorial dimension structure, which assesses the development and how each province should contribute to the achievement of the major goals defined" Silva said.
In terms of tax revenue, Silva said, there has been an assessment, where "167 priorities are foreseen, with 58 for food security, youth 96, gender equality 34, environmental sustainability 48, employment 125 and business environment 38 priorities".
Silva added that the PDN is in its conclusive phase, and that the change in the big macroeconomic figures also meant to push it to update the current fiscal landscape.
The National Development Plan is a medium term planning instrument, which presents the strategic objectives by area and respective action programmes with their targets, projects and activities.
The Long Term Strategy - Angola 2050 is the basic tool for elaborating the National Development Plan (PDN), it presents the country's long term strategic development options and is elaborated based on the analysis of scenarios for the national, sectorial and territorial levels. HEM/AC/Amp/jmc
