Luanda - The minister of Tourism, Márcio Daniel, announced this Friday, in Luanda, the creation of a tourism agency in the country, in the near future, to enable greater links between the market and the tourism sector.
When intervening at the inauguration of the board members of the Association of Hotels and Resorts of Angola (AHRA), the minister said that the ministerial department is also focused on creating new work policies and training human resources, fundamental factors for the creation of an agency that will inherit the responsibilities of the Tourism Promotion Institute.
Still within the scope of the hotel and tourism development plans in the country, the minister said that, soon, the sector will create a program called “Simplifica Turismo”, which aims to reduce and simplify bureaucracy, as well as do way with unnecessary barriers for operators.
He defended the need to work synergistically with various segments of the tourism sector, such as hotel and resort operators, travel agencies and tour guides, to promote domestic tourism, before taking steps to promote this activity abroad.
For his part, the re-elected president of AHRA, Ramiro Barreira, said that, currently, the living force of the hotel industry continues to emerge in the four corners of the country, transmitting hope for a sustainable future and development.
For the manager, tourism is on the right track, mainly with the signals given recently by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, who challenged the business class to boost this sector.
According to Ramiro Barreira, the priority of the new management, in this three-year term, is to work with the Executive to resolve constraints related to numerous and excessive taxes, a fiscal framework that is unattractive to the sustainability of companies, access to financing, lack of a strong and robust tourism, among other issues.
AHRA also has among its priorities, he continued, the organization of skills reinforcement and training courses in hospitality and establishing partnerships with technical-professional schools. In addition to Ramiro Barreira, who was re-elected as Chairperson of the board, AHRA also has three vice-Chairpersons, Valdemar Marques, Manuel Sebastião and Maria Monteiro, respectively, while the general assembly is made up of president José Jaime Sousa and vice-president António Duarte.
The supervisory board is made up of Chairperson Óscar Rodrigues, vice-president Alfredo Cardoso and member Yola Ferreira.
