Cuito - The governor of Bié, Pereira Alfredo, requested the active participation of women in the effort for the diversification of the local economy, focusing on activities that generate income for families and thus guarantee more jobs for young people.
The government official was speaking to the press during the official presentation of the Bié Business Women's Association, which took place on Saturday night.
Pereira Alfredo said it is important that women in the entrepreneurial world are more resilient and, above all, creative, looking at the current context of the national economy, which appears to be quite challenging.
Therefore, he challenged the association now created to overcome all prejudices, looking increasingly towards the future, as most large companies are still owned by men.
He highlighted the need to give women more opportunities to fulfill themselves in the business world.
Without revealing dates, Pereira Alfredo informed, at the time, that the province will have a business incubator in the coming days, the process of which is already advanced with the Minister of State for Economic Coordination.
The idea, he said, aims to welcome and materialize all entrepreneurial ideas whose promoters do not know how to start.
He clarified that, in the business incubator, there will be experts who will listen to ideas and subsequently guide citizens who want to take the first step in the field of entrepreneurship.
In turn, the chairperson of the Bié Business Women's Association, Isabel Carlos, said that the organization will be able to bring together all women in the province who show interest in entrepreneurship, giving them the necessary assistance.
Formed in November 2023, the association currently has 300 women linked to the business sector in Bié.
The ladies work in service areas, such as decoration, floristry, catering, event promotion, confectionery, hairdressing, transport and others. The event was animated by musician Euclides da Lomba.LB/PLB/DOJ
