Saurimo - The governor of Lunda-Sul, Daniel Neto, on Tuesday said that the province is open to Portuguese investment, in the agricultural and tourism sectors, with a view to diversifying the Angolan economy, which needs to be less dependent on the oil sector.
The governor made this appeal during a meeting with eight members of the Association of Former Specialists of the Portuguese Air Force from Base number 04, who carried out military service in the district in the 60s and 70s, highlighting that the province has “enormous” potential agricultural and tourism that needs to be transformed into wealth, through private investment.
He asked the association to help the government attract Portuguese businesspeople in the agriculture and tourism sectors to the province, ensuring that the business environment in the district is “stable”.
Daniel Neto reiterated the government's commitment to continue working to improve communication routes, expand the electrical network, water, among other infrastructures that facilitate private investment without huge costs.
In turn, on behalf of the association, Brigadier João Pinto, stated that the two-day visit aims to evaluate potential investment areas, to attract Portuguese businesspeople to the province.
For two days, members of the Portuguese air force will visit social impact infrastructures, tourist and mining areas. EM/JW/HD/MRA/DOJ
