Lubango - The Ghanaian ambassador to Angola, Mavis Esi Kusorgbor, said Tuesday in Lubango that she will ask for investors from her country who are interested in betting on the potential of the province of Huíla, already identified.
The ambassador was speaking in an exclusive interview with ANGOP, at the end of a visit to some companies in the province of Huíla, which aimed to explore investment opportunities to promote trade between the two countries.
Mavis Esi Kusorgbor said that Ghana and Angola are countries with a 'strong, but almost non-existent economic relationship', hence the visit to promote this area, as there is a lot to take advantage of in Huíla companies in terms of building bridges and other infrastructures, as well as in the granite sector.
She pointed out that the embassy will now send a report on the visit, in terms of Huíla's potential, and Accra, in turn, will help identify partners in the identified areas who can make a visit.
Mavis Esi Kusorgbor made it known that she will still identify a city in Ghana to twin with Lubango.
In the field of trade, the diplomat said that they will present the Huíla companies to Ghanaian investors, as they have expressed their interest in exporting their products.
She expressed his country's interest in promoting intra-African trade, within the framework of the continental free trade area initiative, where they would like to start exporting products from his country to Angola.
Mavis Esi Kusorgbor added that they were also interested in Angola's mining experience, to help boost the income of the two countries' economies, as Ghana also produces gold, bauxite and some diamonds.
She pointed out that Huíla listed agriculture, tourism and economy as important areas, and Ghana, being a developing country, it is important to interact with the province to know how to create partnerships.
Ambassador Mavis Esi Kusorgbor who made a two-day visit to Huíla found the companies Metalosul, Granisul, Nutriboty and Fazenda Jamba. It is the first time he has visited Huíla, in the two years he has been in charge of the embassy.
She also visited tourist attractions in the province such as the Tundavala Rift, the Chapel of “Our Lady of Mount”, the Huíla Science and Technology Center, Christ the King, among others. EM/MS/DOJ
