Cuito – Managers of State administration bodies in the province of Bié participated on Thursday, in the city of Cuito, in a seminar on the rules for implementing the General State Budget (OGE), in an initiative of the local finance department.
The event is aimed to train managers on the principles of budgetary, financial, asset execution, public investments, contracting and accountability, these being the topics covered during the single training day.
The province of Bié has a budget of 171.9 billion Kz ($206.16million) for the year of 2024.
At the event, the deputy governor for the political, economic and social sectors, Alcida de Jesus Camateli Sandumbo, said it was necessary for the OGE's executors to properly manage the financial resources as they were registered, seeking methodological instruments capable of guaranteeing greater rationalization and objectivity in the application of public money.
Therefore, she asked for greater commitment to the principles of responsibility, legality, honesty and parsimony, aiming for scrupulous compliance with the implementation rules, thus allowing the constant promotion of the transparency that is required.
In turn, the director of the Provincial Office of Studies, Planning and Statistics of Bié, Anacleta Leonardo, who spoke on one of the topics linked to the Execution of Public Investment Projects, said that the local government has been developing several actions that aim to rectify the inefficiencies in the project preparation process.
She also mentioned that she has given great emphasis to carrying out training activities, reviewing internal procedures for analyzing and monitoring projects, debugging the Public Investment Program, evaluating the national portfolio and others.
