Luanda – Public servants and administrative agents of the general Public Service regime, who previously earned 70,000 kwanzas, started in June, benefit from the supplementary remuneration approved by the Angolan government, which increased the net salary of this class to more than 100,000 kwanzas.
With this new salary structure paid in June, a cleaning assistant in the Public Administration, who received a net salary of 69,000 kwanzas, now earns 138, 000 kwanzas, the supplement of which "will not be added" to the base salary.
This measure results from the Government Decree of April 19, which grants public servants and administrative agents of the general Public Service regime an additional remuneration of 30,000 kwanzas, starting in June, as well as establishing that staff in the Higher Education teaching career and Scientific Researcher benefit from the right to define additional remuneration.
Doctors and military health personnel can opt for the remuneration scheme for personnel integrated into the respective professional careers of civilian personnel in the Health sector.
National minimum wage
The Angolan government approved early this week the new national minimum wage of 70,000 kwanzas for the largest companies and 50,000 kwanzas for micro-enterprises, start-ups and individuals.
The Presidential Decree analyzed during the cabinet council, states that after 12 months from the date of its entry into force, the value of 70,000 kwanzas increases to 100,000 kwanzas.
It adds that the amount of 50,000 kwanzas corresponds to the national minimum wage to be paid to workers of micro-enterprises and start-ups, as well as to domestic workers.
However, with the approval of the new national minimum wage, the government wants to introduce a balance between the principles of fair remuneration and the dignity of the human person, a statement of the meeting said.
The previous national minimum wage was at about 32,000 kwanzas.
On the other hand, in the field of mandatory social protection, the government approved new minimum and maximum amounts for old-age retirement, survivors', disability and old-age allowances.
The maximum limit increased to 729,448 kwanzas, against the Kz 607,874 kwanzas, corresponding to an impact of 20%, while the minimum amount rose from 48,272 kwanzas to 70,000, while retirement pensions for survivors, disability and old-age allowance worth more than the minimum amount and less than the maximum amount foreseen, are subject to an increase of 25%.
