Luanda – At least over 1.4 billion kwanzas is the amount of funding provided to the 4,795 projects of the Programme of Support Production, Diversification of Exports and Substitution of Imports (PRODESI), since it started operating, said in Luanda the secretary of State for the Economy, Ivan dos Santos.
Speaking at the usual briefing of the Ministry for the Economy and Planning, the governmental official said that the funding is expected to create around 75,464 direct jobs, without counting the indirect jobs.
According to him, among the approved projects, the Credit Support Programme (PAC) has 1,923 projects, which is equivalent to 76 billion kwanzas, adding that the projects disbursed totalled in 1,439, approximately at 59 billion kwanzas, with agriculture with the most projects and credits approved.

Ivan dos Santos said that, with regard to the National Production page, so far over 105,000 farmers have been registered, and said that around 69,263 producers had been trained.
"The National Development Plan (PND) had established 1514 companies approved and financed, but it was possible to obtain a 220% return. Three thousand companies had their credits approved", he said.
Regarding the cooperatives, the secretary of State for the Economy stated that the target was 470, in light of the PND, which made it possible to finance 1,015 cooperatives.
The Credit Support Project (PAC), which is part of the PRODESI, was restructured in 2022 to increase funding for projects that have had difficulties in obtaining credit.
Approved by Presidential Decree 169/18 of 20 July, PRODESI is an Executive programme to accelerate the diversification of national production and wealth generation, in a set of productions, with greater potential for generating export value and substituting imports.
PRODESI also aims to increase domestic production in terms of sales volume, accelerate the diversification and use of national comparative advantages, reduce the expenditure of foreign exchange resources on the basic basket, and increase and diversify the sources of foreign exchange.
