Luanda - The Luanda International Fair (FILDA) 2024 represents signs of recovery of the economy whose national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by about 4.6% in the first quarter of 2024, the president of the Industrial Association of Angola (AIA), José Severino said on Friday.
José Severino, who was speaking to ANGOP in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), where the 39th edition of the fair takes place, stressed that, despite a not very favourable economic moment, companies are resilient and are demonstrating their potential, contributing to the growth process of the economy.
In this sense, the official believes that it is necessary to continue to inject resources into agriculture, to allow the development of the activity, as well as to invest in roads, maintenance of them, in order to facilitate the transport of products and allow them to be cheaper, more efficient, and then 'obviously, replace the import of raw materials'.
As for the exhibition, the president of AIA said that the association is satisfied with the reaction of the business class in the face of the economic potential demonstrated.
