Luanda - The 39th edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA 2024) starts this Tuesday (23), in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), with a focus on the motto 'Food security and international partnership: The binomial of economic diversification'.

This edition will devote special attention to family farming, an activity that contributes about 90% of Angolan agricultural production.

Running until the 28th of this month, the event will also be marked by the presence of the Portuguese Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, who is visiting Angola this week to strengthen economic, political and cultural relations between the two countries.

The forum, co-organized by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the “Eventos Arena group”, has, so far, confirmed presence from more than 10 countries and, as for the number of exhibitors, it is expected to exceed the thousand and 300 participants of the previous edition.

Tickets

To access the fair, in this edition, the normal ticket package costs 4,000 kwanzas, while the express is worth 5,000 kwanzas, tickets that allow you to enter FILDA for only one day, according to the organization.

Regarding car parking, each ticket costs 2,000 kwanzas.

Luanda International Fair is the largest showcase for national promotion, business and job development, with a fingerprint in the promotion of the diversification of the economy, serving as an opportunity to consolidate established presences in the market and strengthen trade relations.

Its realization in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) is configured as a direct or indirect invitation to investment in Angola.

Categories to be awarded

The event also serves for public recognition and awards for companies and entities that stand out in various categories.

The award is made based on the quality of the exhibition, attractiveness of the stand, innovation and application of new technologies, as well as the richness of content, graphic or audiovisual.

Also, part of the criteria is harmony in the use of the exhibitor's brand in the various elements (constructive, decorative, promotional, graphic and uniforms), promotional materials available and proactivity in service.

However, all exhibitors are automatically nominated for each category, and the result of the vote will be known at the end of the event. In this edition, the winners will receive personalized trophies and certificates.

Among the categories to be awarded, the 'best participation of Public Entities and Companies', 'Public Utility Services', 'Commerce and services', 'Food and Beverages' and 'Civil Construction and Public Works' stand out.

Also included are the categories with the best participation 'International', 'Insurance', 'Banking and Financial Services', 'Agriculture and Fisheries', 'Cosmetics and Health', 'Energy and Water', 'Transport and Logistics', 'Machinery and Equipment' and 'Industry and National Production'.

In addition, exhibitors will compete in the categories of Telecommunications and Information Technology and Media, Oil and Gas, Innovative Products, Best Brand Activation and Best Press Coverage.

Historic

The creation of FILDA took place in the 60s, with the 1st edition organized by the Industrial Association of Angola (AIA). The creation of this showcase resulted from a gigantic process of industrial transformation that was taking place at the time, with the need to show Angola's economic and business development to the world.

In 1963, still under colonial administration, the event appeared at the so-called Luanda Industrial Fair, a facility that has been abandoned and vandalized since 2015, in the municipality of Cazenga, in Luanda.

At the time, the fair was called 'Expo Angola', moving to the current Luanda International Fair, years later, with a new dynamic approach.

Organized by several managing entities until 2015, the fair passed, after a one-year break, to the direct management of the Government of Angola, namely by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, with the production and promotion of the Arena Events, which introduced a new dynamic and modernity.

With the extinction of the Ministry of Economy, the 39th edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA 2024) is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in partnership with Eventos Arena. QCB/VC/DOJ
