Luanda - A memorandum of understanding to facilitate access to credit for middle and low-income people for the purchase of various materials was signed this Thursday, on the third day of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA 2024), between ICC Angola and Pay4all.
The agreement, signed by the director of ICC Angola, Ahmad El Kara, and the chairman of the Executive Committee of Pay4all, Nuno Veiga, will allow access to credit only to customers who have been using the 'Ékwanza' service for at least three months and making purchases in the stores of these companies.
Speaking to ANGOP, regarding this partnership, Nuno Veiga explained that the amount available in credit varies according to the volume of transactions made by the Ékwanza customer, with a payment term of two months, initially, from the date on which the first installment is paid.
In turn, the head of Business at ICC Angola, Glaudêncio Gameiro, said that, taking into account the country's economic scenario, characterized by the low purchasing power of families, the partnership is a real solution, because customers will be able to pay for the products in installments.
Along with the signing of this memorandum, the third day of FILDA, dedicated to the mobile operator Unitel, was honored with a guided tour by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança Costa, who interacted with the exhibitors and was satisfied with the agri-food potential evident at the fair.
Another highlight that also marked that day was the holding of the 15th meeting of entrepreneurs for economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP), aimed at strengthening business cooperation.
In addition to agricultural products, the fair also exhibits movable goods, beverages, handicraft material, agricultural machinery and technological services.
In parallel with the national exhibitors, the event also has the participation of Portugal, the country with the largest foreign representation (more than 100 participants), Brazil, Italy, the United States of America, Indonesia, Canada, Germany and Spain.
The largest business exchange, which has more than 1,350 exhibitors from the previous edition, is the largest showcase for national promotion, business and job development. In fact, the international character of FILDA also has a fingerprint in fostering the diversification of the economy.
The 39th edition of FILDA takes place under the motto 'Food security and international partnership: the binomial of economic diversification', in an area of 144 thousand square meters, 42 thousand of which are recreational exhibition areas.
Its realization in the Special Economic Zone is configured as a direct or indirect invitation to investment in Angola. CPM/QCB/DOJ
