Luanda - The Angolan Securities Exchange (BODIVA) closed the first half of this year by trading 394 billion kwanzas only in June, which is the highest value reached in a month since the beginning of the year, said Tuesday in the province of Luanda the Executive Director of the institution Cristina Lourenço.

She informed that the total traded in the first semester adds up to 1.08 trillion kwanzas, a monthly average of 180 billion kwanzas.

According to the official, monthly negotiations for this year are upward due to the operation of the National Reserve Bank of Angola (BNA) which placed in the BODIVA Treasury Bonds in dollars, and also by the dynamism that the market has gained.

The manager revealed that there are good prospects for BODIVA, considering the Treasury Bonds as well as the African Investment Bank (BAI) shares that continue to be traded on the market, including the sale of Sonangol (public oil company) shares on the stock exchange, announced by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the stock exchange company.

"So, we are confident that the outlook will continue to be positive", she said.

Cristina Lourenço informed that BODIVA is participating for the first time in the Luanda International Fair (FILDA), where it intends to exhibit its services and make available the possibilities of stock exchange trading.

This year, the 38th edition of FILDA brings together national and foreign exhibitors totalling 1,302, such as Italy, Indonesia, Turkey, Portugal, Germany and Japan.

Running under the motto "Digital Economy: The new frontier for the world economy", the event will happen from 18 to 22 July and was opened to the public by the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço.  PPA/MRA/jmc
