Luanda - The Nahle Group invested two million US dollars in a new cardboard box industry in January this year, with the capacity to produce a thousand tons per day, the chairperson Hassaim Nahle told press on Wednesday in Luanda.
The new industry, called Big Pack, joins others of the Nahle Group that produce metal structures, tubes and sheets.
According to the entrepreneur, the Big Pack presents a strong growth and provides products for several local companies in the food sector, especially for boxing of food dough and crackers. He added that with the new venture, 600 jobs were created.
As for the raw material, Hassaim Nahle said that the company acquires the material for brown boxes in the local market, while white boxes raw materials are imported from Germany.
On the other hand, the company is expecting to increasing its production in the coming years and to export to other countries of the Southern Africa region.
Luanda International Fair (FILDA) is taking place from 18 to 22 July in Angola’s capital city. More than 1,300 entrepreneurs, among national and foreign are attending the event, including representatives from South Africa, Italy, Germany, Japan, USA, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey and Portugal.
