Catumbela - The SNL cement and clinker factory will give greater confidence to developers of real estate projects in the country, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, said on Friday, in Catumbela, Benguela province.
Speaking to journalists, on the sidelines of the laying of the first (symbolic) stone for the construction of the manufacturing unit, the minister stated that this project will reinforce the country's capacity to carry out public and private works in the field of civil construction.
'Private investors show confidence in the policies that the government is initiating and which are another step towards improving the living conditions of our populations', he considered.
The minister assured that this project will generate direct and indirect jobs, income and improve the living conditions of several citizens.
'The other thing I want to highlight is that the promoters intend to export surplus production and, in this context, it is another contribution to the diversification of our exports and consequently the balance of payments', he said.
Rui Miguêns announced that the Government reaffirms that the country's economy will develop based on economic activity, with greater emphasis on the private sector.
'We are sure of this, as, if there is more production, prices will reflect this stability and will become increasingly accessible to all budgets', he stated with confidence.
For the governor of Benguela, Manuel Nunes Júnior, the project is of great importance, not only from the point of view of industrial production, but, above all, because it is another source of job creation.
'In the first phase alone, the company will employ around a thousand workers, including nationals and foreigners, which is a considerable number', he said.
For him, clinker production and the volumes that will be produced will satisfy national needs and for export, taking advantage of the Lobito Corridor.
