Uíge - The holding of Expo-Uíge 2024, opened this Wednesday, in the city of Uíge, with more than 200 exhibitors from various sectors, demonstrates the region's farming potential.
Inaugurated by the minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Carmen do Sacramento Neto, and Governor José Carvalho da Rocha, the largest showcase in the province of Uíge is part of the celebrations of the 107th anniversary of the region's headquarters municipality, celebrated on the 1st of July.
The fair will last five days and will feature exhibitors from different segments of the agriculture, real estate, fashion, technology, industry, hospitality and tourism, banking and insurance sectors.
When speaking at the opening ceremony, the Uíge's municipal administrator, José Raimundo Teca, said that the fair will serve to demonstrate the province's agricultural and industrial potential.
José Raimundo said, on the other hand, that Expo-Uíge is a catalyst for attracting investment, highlighting that one of the main focuses of the province is the promotion of agriculture.
In addition to agriculture, “we also seek to attract those who are the catalysts for agricultural transformation”, he said.
Regarding the Family Farming Support Program (PLAAF), he said that local initiative has been developing and changing the lives of the region's population.
