Ndalatando - The sixth edition of Expo Cuanza-Norte has seen great demand for agricultural products, most of which were sold out on the first and second days of the exhibition.
Most of the visitors came to the fair looking for products from the countryside, especially bananas, sweet potatoes, sugar cane, palm oil, beans and coffee.
A good number of exhibition stands were empty and others had to be restocked due to demand.
For example, at the Bolongongo municipality pavilion, according to the coordinator, Manico Pinto, the products brought to the exhibition sold out on the second day, adding that despite being restocked, the products ran out due to the high demand from visitors.
He said that the farmers looked for the possibility of a third shipment, however this was made difficult by the poor conditions of the roads to the municipality.
The municipal director of agriculture of Ngonguembo and coordinator of the municipality exhibitors, João Manuel Cavunga, said the product replenishment process could be jeopardized due to the problem with the vehicle carrying the products.
The sixth edition of Expo Cuanza-Norte is being held under the motto “Cuanza-Norte hand in hand, let us intensify national production” and is part of the activities commemorating the 68th anniversary of the rise of Ndalatando to city status, celebrated on May 28.
Exhibitors from the trade, agriculture, cattle breeding, hotel, tourism, catering, telecommunications, banking and services sectors from the provinces of Cabinda, Namibe, Malanje, Uíge, Huambo and Luanda are taking part in the fair.
