Luanda - The 2nd edition of Luanda Car Expo 2024, taking place from 11 to 15 September in the Angolan capital, expects to create more than 300 jobs, between direct and indirect, increasing to more than 40% the number of jobs created in the 2023 edition.

According to the co-producer of the Expo Car organization, Ambrósio de Lemos, the increase in the number of jobs is justified by the fact that the exhibition area was expanded this year, estimated at four thousand square meters, on the Luanda Marginal.

Speaking to the press, this Wednesday, during the launch of the event, the promoter clarified that the jobs to be created have to do with the assembly of stands, graphic designers, producers, among others.

Regarding turnover, the organization expects to exceed the result of one billion kwanzas achieved in the previous edition, with the goal of growing about 35% of this amount, revenue mostly from the sale of vehicles, during the fair.

Under the motto 'Sustainable mobility for the future of Angola', the fair also expects to have more than 25% of the number of exhibitors of the last edition, which reached more than 70 stallholders from different segments.

Data from the organization also indicate that in the first edition more than five thousand visitors were registered, a number that is expected to increase to more than 70%.

As for investment, it is also expected that this year it will be above 22% of the 100 million kwanzas invested in 2023.

During the five-day event, the source said that dealerships and representatives of car brands will provide promotions, auctions and present payment models to the public, with products that meet the needs of customers.

According to Ambrósio de Lemos, this fair aims to offer a business platform for the automotive sector in Angola, bringing together all players, with emphasis on banking, insurers, dealerships and official brand representatives.

In addition, he continued, the event also aims to create a platform for development and discussion that can sell the image aimed at the Angolan automotive sector.

He also stressed that attracting international players in the automotive sector is also part of the Expo's objectives.

On the other hand, the launch of the 2nd edition of Luanda Expo Car 2024 was marked with the signing of a protocol between the organization of this event and INAPEM.

According to INAPEM administrator, Bráulio Augusto, the objective of this protocol is, on the one hand, to support the holding of the country's largest automotive event, as well as to encourage the creation of a healthy mosaic for Angolan startups in this sector.

“We joined the organization of the event because we understand that this will be another important opportunity to bring closer to our target audience, which are micro, small and medium-sized companies, the various services and solutions that INAPEM has been developing”, he stated.

With this purpose, he said that the institution plans to bring to the event the services of some startups or emerging companies that are still in their initial phase, to be able to present their disruptive and innovative ideas, aimed at this very important mobility sector.

Therefore, as a result of the agreement signed, the participation of approximately 33 startups was established, coming from almost all provinces of the country.

With the participation of dealerships, insurance companies, mobility companies, mechanic workshops and representatives of lubricant manufacturers, the largest car expo in Angola has the mission of promoting the growth of the Angolan automotive industry, encouraging local production and promoting the development of new partnerships commercials.

Furthermore, the event offers an opportunity to address crucial topics related to sustainable urban mobility, logistics, circular economy in the automotive industry, ESG in the automotive sector, public-private partnerships and the development of local talent. QCB/DOJ
