More than 40 billion kwanzas on tax exemption for industry sector
Luanda - The Angolan State granted, between January and April of this year, an exemption on the import of raw materials from the industrial sector, valued at 40.271.380.865 Kwanzas (about US$ 45.655.664), as part of incentives for national production.
According to the Secretary of State for Industry, Carlos Rodrigues, in 2023, the State spent 850 million dollars, of which 25% were on exemptions (144.918.423.0.0,38 kwanzas).
Speaking at the presentation session of the industry portal, he clarified that of the 40 billion exempted, 50% corresponds to the subsector of beverages, chemicals (20%), food (13%), metal and equipment assembly, at 6%, respectively.
Carlos Rodrigues explained that these exemptions result from the issuance of an exclusivity certificate, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Regarding the benefits of the portal, http://portalindustria.ao, he informed that, in addition to reorganizing the sector, it will make it possible to understand the real picture of the national industrial park and project more concrete actions.
According to the Secretary of State, all industrialists are obliged, on a monthly basis, from the 8th of this month, to enter into this portal data relating to their productive activity, with emphasis on the type and location of the industry, as well as the structure of capital and business shares.
They must also provide the Tax Identification Number (TIN), sales volume, prices, monthly results, as well as the number of workers at the manufacturing unit.
Failure to comply with this Executive directive will result in sanctions ranging from the cancellation of the issuance of the exclusivity certificate to the revocation of the industrial license.
On the occasion, the chair of the Angola Industrial Association (AIA), José Severino, considered that the portal will facilitate statistics on the national industrial park, as well as knowing the real internal production.
On the other hand, the Association defended the introduction of a new model for importing raw materials into the country. OPF/QCB/CF/DOJ
