Luanda - Angolan insurer ENSA reached a record of 100 billion kwanzas in gross premiums written (amounts that insured people pay to keep their policies active) between January and August this year, a historic milestone since it was founded.

Operating in the Angolan market since 1978, ENSA has never recorded equal or greater amounts in an eight-month period, according to a note ANGOP had access to this Friday.

The chairman of ENSA's Executive Committee, Mário Lemos, quoted in the statement, said that this achievement represents a combination of efforts and the company's futuristic vision in implementing new strategies.

‘The ENSA family is to be congratulated for once again exceeding expectations and achieving an unparalleled turnover. There are 100 billion kwanzas in prizes in the space of eight months, which proves the renewed dynamism of a team that we are very proud of,’ he emphasised.

In addition to the record premiums achieved, he emphasised that the insurer had also made important progress in various strategic initiatives, including the first subscription of the new Agricultural Insurance and the consolidation of technological projects that are offering customers greater autonomy in the management of ENSA insurance.

In the year in which ENSA is expected to be launched on the stock exchange, Mário Lemos called for the need to continue innovating and leading the insurance sector in Angola, with a redoubled responsibility in the market to maintain leadership.

According to the manager, the commitment is to constantly overcome challenges with ethics, efficiency and perseverance, always remembering that the customer is the reason for the company's existence.

Later this year, ENSA plans to float 30% of its share capital on the stock exchange, as part of the Privatisation Programme for state assets and shares in private companies (PROPRIV).

ENSA was the first insurance company after Angola's independence and since then it has been a leader in the insurance market and one of the most solid and reputable companies in the country.

Over time, it has been a pioneer in launching innovative insurance solutions that take into account the real needs of the market.

Founded in 1978, the insurer has since led the insurance market in Angola, accompanying the country's economic and social development, according to the company. CLAU/QCB/DAN/DOJ
