Lobito - Israeli business people, directly connected to the agricultural sector, are interested in using the Port of Lobito to transport products to Africa, Europe and the Americas, the Ambassador, Shimon Solomon, said on Tuesday.
Speaking to the press, the ambassador informed that he came to Lobito to see its potentiality and identify business opportunities.
The diplomat explained that he was once a member of his country's Chamber of Commerce for Africa and that he knows many companies, and is therefore convinced that many of them will invest in Angola and use the port services.
According to Shimon Solomon, many of them know that Port of Lobito is one of the most important in the world, due to its potential, geographical location and the bay with calm waters and natural breakwater, which is Restinga do Lobito.
"Angola and Israel have good relations and my country has a lot of technology to share, as well as intending to do good business", he explained.
He will keep collecting information and invited the President of the Port's Board of Directors, Celso Rosas, to visit his country and see its economic potential.
In turn, Celso Rosas guaranteed that the Port is open to the world and that its use by Israeli companies will be an added value.
"I believe that, in a commercial relationship with Israel, we'll all win, because we are open to cooperation and business promotion," he stated.
The Port of Lobito began to be built in March 1903, following the implementation of a railway in the region, which later became the Benguela Railway (CFB).
It began commercial operations in March 1928 with the docking of the 1st vessel.
In March 2024, that port company completed 96 years of existence. TC/CRB/CF/DOJ
