Egyptian company seeks partners in Angola

Luanda – The Egyptian regional construction and contracting company "Arab Contractors", one of the largest firms in Africa and the Middle East, is interested in creating a partnership with Angolan companies to develop projects related to public works and infrastructure in Angola, said in Cairo, Egypt, the chairman of the company, Ahmed El Assar.

According to a press release to which ANGOP had access, the chairmn of Arab Contractors considers that the respective projects should be implemented in the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, Huíla, Cabinda and Zaire, in light of the programmes that the Angolan government considers a priority.

Ahmed El Assar expressed the intention of the partnership between the businesspeople of the two countries during a meeting granted to him by the Angolan ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Nelson Cosme.

On the occasion, the Angolan diplomat received detailed information on the progress of the main projects under consideration for implementation in Angola.

The meeting between the Angolan ambassador and the Arab Contractors head is part of the visit that the Egyptian Head of State, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, made to Angola from 7 to 8 June this year, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The company, also known as Al Mokawloon Al Arab, is a leading company in the region and the Middle East and has customers, partners and suppliers in more than 29 countries.

The company works in the civil engineering sector and related services such as public buildings, bridges, roads, tunnels, airports, housing, water and sewerage projects, wastewater treatment plants, power stations, dams, hospitals, restoration of monuments, among others.

Meanwhile, in the scope of the bilateral relations, besides the Arab Contractors, there are other Egyptian companies interested in investing in Angola in different sectors highlighting power, industry, equipment, logistics, transport and fertilisers. QCB/BA//MRA/jmc
