Luanda - Around 20 million EUR is the amount that the Angolan car dealer company “Automatriz” intends to invest in its commercial activity, until 2025, which represents an increase of 100% compared to the current figure investment.
The expansion of this investment to 40 million euros, in the short term, will also make it possible to increase the number of jobs to 300 employees in the company, which currently employs 80 workers, according to the president of the Automatriz Board of Directors, Ângelo Ferreira.
The manager, who was speaking during the opening of the new facilities of Carby, official importer and distributor of the Isuzo automobile brand in Angola, held Thursday, in Viana (Luanda), highlighted that the company has an annual turnover of 55 million of euros, resulting from the sale of vehicles in the country, with plans to increase this value to 100 million euros in the near future.
For his part, the president of the Board of Directors of the Land Transport Agency, Enio Costa, praised the investment made by the business group and the creation of jobs, having called on investors to opt for green technologies, in alignment with development objectives sustainable.
On the other hand, he recalled that the Angolan Government is working on electro mobility policy, a segment that businesspeople, especially in the automotive sector, can look at as a business opportunity.
The inauguration of Carby's new facilities was part of the strategic partnership with Automatriz, which intends to expand commercial activity to the provinces of Cabinda, Cauanza Sul and Benguela, soon.
Automatriz is a JAP group company, with more than 100 years of history in six countries around the world, becoming a reference in the light and heavy automobile sector, as well as agricultural and industrial machinery in Angola. It aims to establish long-term partnerships with its customers and suppliers.
On the other hand, Carby arrived in Angola through Automatriz, in 2024, becoming the official importer and distributor of the Isuzo brand. With 100 years of experience in the sector, it is present in Portugal and Angola, representing 17 car brands. DP/QCB/DOJ
