Luanda - More than four hundred and fifty thousand citizens of the provinces of Luanda and Benguela have been made aware, from September 2023 to the present date, about the safe use of digital payment channels, as part of a project by the Interbank Services Company (EMIS).
According to a press release from EMIS, the activity was part of the company's project 'Digital Citizen', which aims to transmit reliable practices of use and ways to avoid the threats that citizens face on these platforms.
“The Angolan financial system has been evolving satisfactorily towards being an increasingly digital and less face-to-face banking, which also makes it urgent to have greater security and reliability of computer resources”, underlines the document.
The company carried out the project through various awareness-raising strategies, including audiovisual presentations, in commercial establishments and with direct contact with citizens on public roads.
The first phase of the “Digital Citizen” project began in September 2022, in Luanda, where more than 200 thousand citizens were sensitized. AB/ASS/DOJ
