Caxito – An integrated park composed of an industrial, commercial, residential and recreational program was launched today, in Barra do Dande, Bengo province, in an area of 2,000 hectares, with an initial investment of $150 million.
It is a project called 'Dubai Investments Park Angola (DIP Angola)', by Dubai Investments International, which will create 1,500 jobs.
The project will be implemented in three phases, the first of which will be carried out over a period of 14 to 16 months at a cost of US$150 million, the director-general of DIP Angola, Jaffar Lakkis, said.
'We still don't have the studies finished for the three phases. The project in Dubai, of which this is a replica, started with 100 million dollars and today the total investment is about 50 billion USD,' he clarified.
DIP Angola will include aluminium, metal structures, glass factories, and will also serve for partners who want to set up their own industrial units.
The managing director of Dubai Investments International, Omar Al Mesmar, said it was a strategic initiative aimed at support Angola's economic development, which will serve as a catalyst for long-term growth and innovation in the country.
For the governor of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, DIP Angola will contribute to improving the country's economic indexes, provide an opportunity for investors to export their products and serve the countries of the southern region of the continent.
'This project will make it possible to create more jobs, especially for young people, provide specialized professional training and support the community where it is located (the commune of Barra do Dande),' she said.
The governor said that Bengo is with open arms to receive other investors willing to participate in the task of reconstruction of the country and the provincial government is giving all the necessary support so that everything can be carried out without constraints.
