Lobito – Two companies have qualified for the International Multipurpose Terminal Tender-opening proposal held last Friday.

They are International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) from Philippines and CITIC Construction associated with Chinese

Group SPG.

In addition to ICTSI and CITIC Construction, also participated in  tender-opening proposal the French Bolloré.

The last did not qualify for allegedly failing to meet the tender requirements, according to the Chairperson of the Tender Evaluation Commission, João Fernandes.

To qualify for proposals, bidders are required to disburse an amount not less than USD 80 million neither over USD 100 million.

“We laid down a three-month period to assess the proposals and announce the winner, should there is no more constraint that compel us to extend the deadline”, said the chairman.

Seven firms have initially registered to participate in the tender, but only three managed to reach this phase and showed up.

The International Tender for the Concession of the Multipurpose Terminal of Containers and General Cargo of Lobito Commercial Port has a total area of 241,540,94 square meters.
