Luanda - The executive director of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Judith Kateera, is due to arrive on a working visit Tuesday in Angola, where the bank has an investment portfolio of over USD 1.2 billion.

The agenda of the working visit, to which ANGOP had access, includes a meeting between the delegation of Judith Kateera and the ministers of Finance and of the Economy and Planning, Vera Daves and Mário Caetano, respectively.

The referred meeting will be marked with the formal awarding to the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves, of the prize "Finance Minister of the Year", attributed in May by the African Banker Awards, an event that is part of the official programme of the AfDB Annual Meetings.

The agenda of the working visit for the executive director of the AfDB also includes a trip to Cabinda province, where she will see local projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MINAGRIP), funded by this African financial institution.

At the end of 2021, the representative of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Angola, Pietro Toigo, said that the bank's investment portfolio in Angola totalled around USD 1.2 billion, divided amongst 13 projects, almost half of which focused on agriculture.

Pietro Toigo, who was speaking at the Virtual Seminar on Business Opportunities, which was held online from Abidjan, also said that more projects were being prepared, estimated at USD 2.5 billion for loans.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) is a multinational development bank, created in 1964, of which 53 African countries are members, including Angola.

The bank is funded by 24 European, American and Asian countries and its mission is to boost economic development and social progress in Africa.
