Luanda - The French ambassador to Angola, Ms Sophie Aubert, on Wednesday, in Luanda, reiterated her country's commitment to boosting the Angolan agricultural sector, with a view to contributing to the process of economic diversification and ensuring food security.
The diplomat reaffirmed this commitment during a meeting on investment in the agricultural sector, promoted by a French business delegation linked to agriculture, which has been working in Angola since Tuesday.
She stressed that, in order to achieve this goal, France has mobilized financing, highlighting as an example the 230 million euros from the French Development Agency (AFD), that are being implemented in innovation projects, as well as in the transition from family farming to commercial agriculture and in coffee production in Angola.
In turn, the Chargé d'Affaires of the French Embassy, Benoite Cutesse, explained that the arrival of the French business mission to Angola is part of the strategy that started in 2024, which aims to showcase Angola's investment opportunities and allow the exchange of experiences between operators in the agricultural sector of the two countries.
This year, businesspeople from the grain production, irrigation, poultry farming and certification and inspection segments have already visited Angola.
The meeting brought together the French business delegation and Angolan agricultural operators, and aimed to share experiences and assess possible cooperation.
Thus, French businesspeople, who will be in the country until the 21st, have already had meetings with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests and the Angolan Agricultural Association.
