Cape Town – The International Conference on Mining in Africa - “Mining Indaba” - 30th edition kicks off Monday in Cape Town, and Angola is among the countries attending the event.
In the event under the motto “Embracing the power of positive disruption: A bold new future for African mining”, the organisers expect to gather more than 6,500 delegates, including 14 Angolan companies (diamond and non-diamond).
The South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa will open the event which has been trying to boost the mining sector in Africa, after the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled due to the spread of Covid-19.
Mining Indaba, which is an annually event exclusively focused on the capitalisation and development of miners in Africa, will present ways regarding management of the critical transition and to Embracing the power of positive disruption aiming to pave the way for the future of mining in Africa.
Innovative visionaries from around the world, at least 100 countries, will analyse the direction and importance that the Mining Indaba has played in three decades in connecting the global mining community and providing a comprehensive perspective on the formation of the African mining industry.
Through powerful networking over three days, it will also analyse, strategies for the oil industry, commodities, energy, the formation of partnerships in the various fields, as well as the impact of the minerals sector on the marriage with the private sector, and the transformation of raw materials to increase employment, income and the development of African peoples.
In addition, Mining Indaba continues to support education, career and sustainable development, as well as other important causes in Africa.
